There is a quaint little Venezuelan restaurant located in Norwalk,CT named Valencia Luncheria. My first job was conveniently located near this little place and I was drawn toward the beach food! I have eaten at this place numerous times (lunches only) and it has never disappointed. It is a small area to eat, seating about 15 people or so and tends to get very busy on Sunday afternoons and weekdays around 1PM. It is moderately priced and absolutely filling!
They have a wide range of food to choose from, including their home-made arepas (corn-cake filled with your choice), empanadas and desserts. Whenever I visit Valencia, I always order at least 1 arepa which you can order to be fried or skillet-roasted. I tend toward the skillet roasted since it is healthier but not to worry….taste is not sacrificed! I order the “Domino” which contains Black Beans and Queso Blanco. I almost always get a homemade juice which is made with fresh fruit and no other additives. My favorite juices include the Mango juice and the Berries juice. You can manage your own spiciness to almost any of your dishes which is a nice plus. If you are into spicy…go for the Chipolte Chicken Burrito which is another one of my favorites. Their burritos can be shared between 2 people. This place is one of the better restaurants in Fairfield County and highly recommended.
If you ever venture to Valencia, let me know how it was!
